Larry Evans is the lead pastor of The Well Church of God in Pulaski, TN. Before arriving at The Well in January 2012, Larry served as the Associate Pastor at South Cleveland Church of God. Larry and his wife Tiffany have been married for 12 years and have served in a variety of ministry settings. These experiences include full time evangelism, hospice and correctional chaplaincy, student pastor, associate pastor and lead pastoral roles. Larry has been a student at Lee University and at William Carey University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He is also a graduate of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary in Cleveland, TN where he earned a Master of Arts in Church Ministries with an emphasis in Church Administration and Leadership.

What is the mission of the Christian church? To answer this question let us recall the words of Jesus as recorded in Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you…” Simply put, the task and mission of the church is twofold: 1) evangelize the sinner; and 2) disciple the believer. This being said, it has been my personal observation over the years that the Christian church has done well with world evangelization, but not so much with disciple-making. That the case, this book was written to provide a basic understanding of what being a disciple is, as well as how to grow in our discipleship with Christ. In the book we will examine the process of making disciples, the program for becoming a disciple, the priority of being a disciple, and finally, the productivity of a disciple. It is my sincere prayer that you will find the material helpful and that you may “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 2:18).
